To make a medal
Place your shell and graphic in the shallow die and align the top of the graphic as you normally do.
- Place the button back into the crimp die with one of its holes nearest the outside diameter, adjacent to the center post of the button machine. This hole will be the top of the finished button relative to the picture on the front of the button.
- Place a welded up eye in the outside hole with the eye placed down in the hole.
- Finish making the button.
Bend a jump ring open just far enough to insert it through the eye of the welded up eye and then bend it shut.
- Thread string, yarn or ribbon through the jump ring.
Caution should be given to the safety of small children playing with string, yarn or ribbon around their neck.
